Sleep postures During Pregnancy Which are good for Mother and Baby

Every person has his own sleeping posture, as long as we feel comfortable. But, when we are promoted to the role of motherhood, the first thing to pay attention to is the healthy development of the fetus, and how you sleep affect it very much.

Then How to get a good position to sleep during pregnancy for both mother and baby?

Raising a child in womb is a sacred work and a great journey for any mother. However, any age of pregnancy ...

In fact, you will tend to sleep more than usual in the first trimester of pregnancy. According to the development of the fetus in womb, in the last months, the abdomen will become bigger and bigger, leading to pain in the back, sometimes heartburn and shortness of breath. Sleeping every night will become more difficult, and you often have to roll back and forth in bed to find a comfortable sleeping position.

Here we will give you  some useful tips for getting the best pregnancy posture for mom and baby.

1. LIE ON YOUR LEFT SIDE

The position on the left side is almost the 1st choice of pregnant women. This position helps you improve circulation of blood to the heart of the pregnant woman and fetus, helping the fetus grow healthy, in addition this position will not cause any pressure on the liver, supporting the process. The liver works normally, good for the kidneys, eliminating waste and excess fluid from the body. Therefore, every morning after waking up your ankles, feet and hands will not be swollen.

The right sleep posture is also good, but especially note in the last 3 months of pregnancy it can put pressure on the pregnant woman's liver and twist the blood vessels in the uterus. Please note that before birth, the fetus tends to turn to the right, if the woman is also lying on the right side, the uterus also tilts to the right more, causing a spiral in the uterus.

2. USE PILLOWS

You should Experiment with other sized and shaped pillows to explore the most comfortable sleeping postures for you. First, take a pillow to lift your head a little higher. This will help you breathe better at night. After that, you can place a soft cotton pillow under your belly or between your legs to help you reduce the pressure significantly. In fact, at shopping stores of 'mom and baby'  there are many types of pregnancy pillows that doctors recommend.

3. POSTURE OF BENDING KNEES

Practice your own sleeping habits, when you lie on your side, bend your legs slightly to your knees. This will support the muscles around the hip that are well developed. Further, the folded knee position also helps your spine relax and prevent back pain during pregnancy.

4. HALF-SITTING POSTURE LYING DOWN

You can use a half-sitting position if you have a comfortable sofa. Everyone cannot  sleep in such a position, maybe you watch some entertainment and fall asleep while sitting. Doctors recommend that, to effectively combine this sleeping posture, you can use pillows to make yourself more comfortable. Moreover, the benefits of this posture can help you reduce heartburn quickly and effectively.

5. AVOID SUPINE POSITION

When you are pregnant and in the last 3 months, you should not lie on your back. 1st of all, it will not be good for the spine, easily leading to spinal aches and symptoms. Secondly, it will increase the pressure on the uterus, reducing blood flow to the aorta. Therefore, the uterus can suffer from anemia, which directly affects the absorption of nutrients and the growth of the fetus in the abdomen. Moreover, the supine sleeping position also makes the toxic substances difficult to be excreted in the body, potentially causing urinary tract infections. Further, pregnant women may experience angina symptoms, rapid face, hypotension, causing fetal choking and even death.

However, sleep changes inevitably itself in the sleep because you cannot control it during sleep. So when you wake up at night, just put your hand on your stomach, roll to the left and continue to fall asleep. For the most optimal way you can put a pillow behind to fix the position, peacefully enjoy sleep.

6. AVOID PRONE POSTURE

In the late or last stages of pregnancy it will be difficult to lie on your stomach - your abdomen is too big if your lung's breathing function is reduced, your body lacks oxygen and the mechanism of emitting carbon dioxide is also hampered causing pressure. The baby in the badomen will led to a situation where the baby is deprived of oxygen.

These are very helpful tips for pregnant women , helping prospective moms find the best sleeping posture and remember in this process that you and your baby need to rest properly. Further, when the baby is born, it is difficult for you to have a good sleep so enjoy it from now on.
